The rising U-11 Freestate Freedom (for girls born on or after August 1, 1999) will be holding tryouts in early June and seeks committed players/families who are interested a select travel program. The team participates in a year-long program that includes WAGS League play, indoor league and training, tournaments, and scrimmages. The goal is to create an environment that develops players who are comfortable with the ball at their feet, understanding the demands of travel youth Soccer, while never forgetting that fun is the most important aspect of their experience. Freestate is also a member of the Elite Clubs National League, the best league for development and exposure of high-school aged girls in the country. For more information on the ECNL, (click here).
The team will be coached by Mellanie Nai and Patrick Noel. Mellanie is a former assistant college coach at both Loyola College and UMBC, coached in the MD Olympic Development Program, runs our Freestate Goalkeeping Program and currently coaches at Elizabeth Seton High School. Patrick (click here for bio) is Co-Director of Coaching for the Freestate Soccer Alliance and also coached in the MD Olympic Development Program for 8 years. Nai and Noel also have teamed together while coaching the U-17 Freestate United ECNL team this past year.
